Our waterjet machine uses the latest high pressure pump technology. The Quantum ESP pump is a revolutionary concept in waterjet cutting. It incorporates a servo motor directly enveloping a high load, precision ball screw. The ball screw directly houses the ceramic plungers, which reciprocate back and forth to create the pumping action, in much the same way as a hydraulic cylinder works on an intensifier pump. The infinite control of the servo motor and precision of the ball screw, enable extremely accurate control over the output pressure and volume of the water displaced, and eliminates pressure spikes when deadheading. This infinite control gives an operator the ability to program virtually any pressure and flow rate from zero to full capacity, while only using the power displaced at the cutting head.

Think Green

Waterjet is considered a “green” technology. Waterjet processing, when compared to other cutting technologies, produce no hazardous waste, thus reducing waste disposal costs. They can cut off large pieces of reusable scrap material that might have been lost using traditional cutting methods. Parts can be closely nested to maximize material use and the waterjet saves material by creating very little kerf. Waterjets use very little water (a half gallon to approximately one gallon per minute depending on cutting head orifice size), and the water can be recycled using a closed-looped system. The garnet abrasive is a non-toxic natural substance that can be recycled for repeated use and can ultimately be disposed of in landfill. Waterjets also do not generate airborne dust particles, smoke, fumes, or contaminates when cutting materials such as fiberglass, which greatly improves the work environment & not to mention saves on heating costs.

Our advanced waterjet SOFTEC waterjet software allows us to be competitive. At the “Heart” of Softec is Tru-Cut Technology, a highly sophisticated algorithms database that determines the optimum cutting speeds and machine ramping characteristics. Once you select the material to be cut, it’s thickness and surface finish required, the computer will take care of the rest, ensuring the minimum cutting time for any given part. Softec software runs on the very latest in controller technology, the AT2010. Developed by ANCA, one of the pioneers in servo control technology, and a leader in the very demanding “CNC Tool and Cutter Grinder” market, the AT2010 delivers maximum acceleration with ultra high speed feedback to ensure minimum processing time with maximum accuracy and best surface finish.
